Tajikistan Railways plans to purchase two TE33A Evolution locomotives

ТЭ 33А EvolutionTajikistan state railway Rohee Ohani Tojikiston (ROT) plans to purchase two TE33A Evolution diesel locomotives manufactured by JSC Lokomotiv Kurastyru Zauyty (LKZ), a joint venture between Kazakhstan Railways (KTZ) and Transmashholding.
The Tajik company is also interested in placeing an order for the purchase of freight wagons, rails and other railway products produced in Kazakhstan.
KTZ and ROT already cooperate in the fields or railway engineering and the modernisation of the rolling stock fleet. The two companies intend to develop joint training programs for train drivers at KTZ’s training center in Astana.
In November 2011 ROT ordered six TE33A locomotives (USD 28 million), which were delivered in early 2012. These were the first locomotives to be exported from the LKZ’s Astana factory.
