BDZ-Passenger Services certifies its on-line ticketing and booking system

bdz_1The Bulgarian Institute for Metrology has certified the centralized system for on-line ticketing and booking service used by Bulgaria’s national rail passenger operator BDZ-Passenger Services.

All the railway stations and bureaus in the country use the system developed and implemented by Information Services JSC . The system allows also buying tickets from the conductor in the train.

The centralized platform replaces the current ticket issuing system, which has not been updated for more than 20 years. The presented system included all the activities of BDZ-Passenger Services: schedules, composing of trains, routing, pricing, control, reporting of revenues from passengers, marketing and statistical real time data.

The project for implementation of Centralized system for on-line ticket buying and booking was presented for the first time in the end of 2013. The first demonstration of ticket buying in train was made in the mid of this year during the official opening ceremony of Dimitrovgrad – Simeonovgrad, Lyubimets – Greek border railway sections, in the presence of the Prime Minister, Boyko Borissov, and the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, Ivaylo Moskovski.
