Belarusian Railways to implement new technologies in 2015

Belarusian Railways plans to implement a package of measures to create and master science-consuming products and raw materials, automation and mechanization of production processes, provision of new equipment and innovative technologies for its branch facilities. The program is to be fulfilled at expense of organizations and structural subdivisions of Belarusian Railways.

This year, innovations are to be implemented in the locomotive, coaches, cargo, and passenger facilities of Belarusian Railways. Innovations will be introduced also into track, electrification, and power supply facilities and RUP “Dorvodokanal”.

The Minsk power supply department will receive a mobile laboratory for high-voltage tests to perform tests (including ultralow frequency 0.1 Hz) of cable lines and locate a place of insulation damage. The mobile laboratory makes it possible not only to restore cable lines promptly, but also to save fuel and energy resources.

For the Zhlobin car-repair depot, the plan stipulates the implementation of a new car repair machine to improve the quality of open car body repair.

For the Minsk transport and logistics hub (Belintertrans transport and logistics hub, the subsidiary of Belarusian Railways), the plan aims to put in practice a technique of discharging of bulky goods from open cars with an Amcodor front loader using a ripper. It will make discharging of bulky goods much easier, upgrade abilities of front loaders during the operation, increase the amounts of handled cargoes, and improve the labor efficiency.

In the Kalinkovichi locomotive plant, a shunting operation procedure at Barbarov station using a Belarusian Railways self-engineered TME1 diesel-locomotive shunter will be implemented.

Implementation of the 2015 plan of production and adoption of new equipment, innovative technologies, automation and mechanization of production processes aims to improve performance of railway transport.
