Bochkaryov: Smaller Moscow Belt Railway to carry passengers in 2015

The Smaller Moscow Belt Railway (SMBR) will be open to passenger service in 2015, the Head of the Department for Construction, Andrei Bochkaryov, told the Bolshaya Stroika (Major Construction) programme on the Moscow Speaks (Govorit Moskva) radio station live.

“The city, along with Russian Railways, plans to launch passenger service on the first stage by late 2015. It means those SMBR stations that are located in densely populated areas, and they are in high demand,” Mr Bochkaryov noted. “We will be creating this project’s foundation for the next few decades, and the SMBR will certainly operate at full volume,” he added.

He also discussed the involvement of Spanish companies in building Moscow Metro facilities.
