Bombardier interested in developing Almaty transport infrastructure

Almaty mayor, AkhmetzhanYesimov had a meeting with the delegation of the Bombardier Inc led by its CEO Pierre Beaudoin.

During the meeting, the sides discussed questions of development of transport infrastructure of Almaty city. Mayor Yesimov noted the major projects in the sphere is construction of metro station and transfer of transports to gas fuel.

“More than 250,000 cars come to Almaty from the suburbs. Therefore, it is important to create a transport infrastructure with suburban areas. This will reduce the load on the main highway of Almaty and will have a positive impact on environment,” Yesimov said.

In his turn, CEO Pierre Beaudoin briefed about the main activities of the company highlighting the Bombardier’s rich experience in launching transport networks. The CEO expressed readiness to cooperate with Almaty in this area.
