Bulgarian railway infrastructure company to invest in modern CCTVs

The National Railway Infrastructure Company (NRIC) will invest over half a million lev (approx. EUR 250000) for installing modern video surveillance systems in train stations. A renewal of CCTVs is expected in Sofia railway station, where the highest number of passenger  is registered.

Currently, over 20 stations in the country are monitored around the clock, the company explained.  Over 500 cameras are installed at key stations, with high volume of passengers. The objective of the installed surveillance systems is to reduce the number of thefts and to monitor potential terrorist threats.
