Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ), the national railways company, is embarking on a strategic business transformation project. The Company’s strategy includes: forming an optimal corporate structure and modern management system, optimization of production and portfolio assets. Business transformation program in the light of these challenges will be an important element of the Company and will help in the implementation of strategic plans.
Business Transformation in Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ)
As part of the business transformation, “NWF “Samruk-Kazyna”* is supposed to improve the effectiveness of each subsidiary through the implementation of targeted programs. The first wave of transformation programs affects JSC “NC “Kazakhstan Temir Zholy”, JSC “NC “KazMunaiGas and JSC “KazPost” which are associated with high expectations. Launching in the top three companies is to be implemented in 2014.
KTZ business transformation initiated after a series of measures taken to improve the performance of the company. Practice has shown that the change management system partially inefficient. During the implementation of the program of business transformation company plans to develop a unified management system: modern and standardized business processes and structures, and increase efficiency and revise management practices.
JSC “NC “KTZ” already approved the Charter of Business Transformation Program. Given the importance of the initiative and the seriousness of the decision, the management of KTZ allocated a team of experts to work on the project which at the time of transformation are to leave their jobs and fully dedicate themselves to project activities. (or with complete distraction from the current job positions for a period of transformation).
*National Welfare Fund “Samruk-Kazyna” was created to enhance the competitiveness and sustainability of the national economy and anticipation of factors possible negative impact of changes in world markets on economic growth in the country. The main purpose of the Fund is to manage belonging to him by right of ownership stakes (stakes) national development institutions, national companies and other entities to maximize their long-term value and competitiveness in world markets.
