Bydgoszcz City selects Pesa for new tram contractPolish Bydgoszcz City has selected local rolling stock manufacturer Pesa Bydgoszcz as preferred bidder for the contract to supply 18 low-floor tramways, following a tender announced in November.

The new Swing (122 NaB) fleet includes 15 vehicles of over 30 meters-long and another three of 19 m-long. The 5 car composition tram will accommodate up to 200 passengers, while the shorter version will accommodate up to 120. After track modenisation works will be completed, the trams could reach speeds of 7o km/h. 

Pesa will deliver the first three trams before the end of this year, with the remaining units planned for delivery in 2018.

The acquisition will be financed from EU funds, covering two public transport development projects.
