Cartagena Alta Velocidad approves funding for new railway station project design

fotonoticia_adifCartagena Alta Velocidad will provide the necessary funds for a new railway station project design. The new railway station will be located in the surrounding area of Mandarache commercial center. As decided at the previous meeting in February, ADIF will be responsible for drafting the project design criteria of intermodality and sustainability. 

ADIF has approved the beginning of the necessary administrative procedures in order to request bids for new railway station railway station project design.  After the meeting, President of ADIF, Gonzalo Ferre, the Minister of Public Works and Planning Planning of the Region of Murcia, Antonio Sevilla and the Mayor of Cartagena, Pilar Barreiro, have visited the location of the future station.

With the entry into service of the connection Monforte del Cid (Alicante)-Murcia high speed line, the travel times between Madrid and Cartagena will be reduced by more than an hour and a half.
