CFR SA to launch tenders worth over EUR 170million

CFR SA, the Romanian railway infrastructure manager, launched on the 25th of December 2013 a tender worth approximately EUR 34.4million for construction and installation works part of Rehabilitation of Danube Bridges major infrastructure project.

According to the tender plan announced  between 9-14 January 2014, CFR SA organises open tenders for the attribution of 8 contracts (design and execution) for improving rail traffic safety with a total estimated cost of RON 332 Million (EUR 74.85 Million), VAT excluded. Works necessary for the improvement of rail traffic safety include the modernisation of 112 level crossings, the modernisation of electro-mechanical signal boxes on the traffic sections Siculeni – Adjud and Ilia – Lugoj and the introduction of a signal box system for detecting overheated axle boxes and tight brakes. As well, Rehabilitation of tunnels and bridges (railway regional subsidiary) project tenders worth EUR 64 millon are to be launched in Q1 this year.
