Romanian state-owned rail infrastructure manager CFR SA has intensified its program for rail infrastructure maintenance in and repair works, aiming to eliminate speed restrictions and and improve passengers comfort level. The estimated total value of the projects reaches RON 16.1 million (EUR 3.5 million) and financing is provided from the state budget. The information was posted by Transport Minister Dan Costescu, on a social media channel.
Among the repair works scheduled for this year are:
- repair works for turnouts at Constanta station railway tracks ; the value of the project is EU 1.1 million and its objective is the elimination of speed restriction.
- repair works for traffic control devices (Relay Interlocking – CED, Elecromechanical Interlocking – CEM, etc) on 14 railway sections and 19 stations; the value of carried works is EUR 1 million
- repair works for infrastructure components repair (tracks and installations); the project value is EUR 1.1 million
The EUR 420,000 tender for repair and electric welding works on Pitesti-Craiova railway line was cancel since no offer was submitted.
