China: First SIRIO tramway delivered to Zhuhai

The first SIRIO tramway, out of the 11 ordered under the contract signed with CNR Dalian has arrived in the Chinese city of Zhuhai.

Born from the collaboration with CNR Dalian and Ansaldo STS, Sirio is a bidirectional five-car standard-gauge vehicle, with two motor bogies and one trailer bogie. The vehicle has a capacity of 279 passengers and is built of high-resistance steel. It is equipped with TramWave free catenary technology and supercapacitors.

The second tramway will be delivered on the 20th of October and will service on the first section of Zhuhai’s tramway line planned to open in conjunction with  China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition on November 11-16.
