The City of Warsaw has selected the contractors for the Warsaw Metro Line II extension with six new stations (3+3).
Gulermak submitted the best offer PLN 1.1 bn billion (EUR 257 million) in the tender for the western lot, which includes the construction 3.4 km of line from Rondo Daszyńskiego to Wolska, Moczydlo, and Ksiecia Janusza. The Turkish company competed with Torpol SA-Public Joint Stock Company “KYJIWMETROBUD”-Engineering Tines Sp. z oo consortium, Doğuş İnşaat ve Ticaret A.Ş and Metrostav Poland SA.
Italian Astaldi S.p.A. was selected for the construction of the eastern extension running for 3.1km from Dworzec Wileński to Swedzka and Targowek. The value of the offer submitted was PLN 1.6 billion (EUR 373 million) . The other companies bidding were: Budimex SA- Ferrovial Agroman SA consortium, Vianini Lavori SpA- Grandi Lavori SpA Fincosit- Maltauro Construzioni Giuseppe Impresa SpA- Mota – Engil Central Europe and Acciona SA-Mostostal Warszawa SA consortia.
Gulermak and Astaldi have to complete the construction works in 38 months after the contract signing.
