Infrastructure of Serbian Railways and China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC), a subsidiary of China Railway Construction Corporation (CRCC), have signed a contract for the reconstruction and modernization of Junction “G” – Rakovica-Resnik railway section.
The value of the overhaul works EUR 23.8 million, with funding being provided under a EUR 95 million loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development signed in 2012. The project includes the reconstruction of civil and electrical infrastructure, modenisation of railway stations and stops facilities.
Works on the 7.5 km-long rail section, part of Belgrade – Mladenovac – Nis – Presevo – FYR Macedonian border railway line, are expected begin in mid-February this year and should be completed in 351 days.
Under the EBRD loan will also be financed the modernization of 76 km long Jajinci – Mala Krsna section, and the modernisation of Mala Krsna railway station.
