banner1024x427bijeliCroatian national passenger rail operator HZ Putnicki Prijevoz (HZPP) has launched an integrated 24/7 online ticketing system and a smartphone application, which the users will be able to install on their mobile phones free of charge. Ticket vending machines (TVMs) which accept credit cards will also be installed by the end of September in all major railway stations.

With the new ticket sales channel, HZPP estimates a 20% to 25%  increase in online sales segment y.o.y.

These developments are part of an integrated ticketing and booking system project (ISPRO)  worth HRK 43.3 million (EUR 5.7 million) which is carried out by Scheidt & Bachmann GmbH (Germany), KING ICT d.o.o. (Croatia) and Četrta pot d.o.o. (Slovenia).

Smart cards will replace paper tickets and train conductors will also be equipped with on-board mobile terminals for ticket control and ticketing.

The ISPRO project is expected to be completed by February 2017.
