CRRC to supply EMUs to Leo Express


Czech rail passenger operator Leo Express has signed a framework agreement with the Chinese rolling stock manufacturer CRRC Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive for the supply of three EMUs, with an options for additional 30 units. The delivery of the first trainsets is scheduled for mid 2018.

“We are pleased to work for our first order in the European Union with LEO Express, the most innovative and fast growing multi-modal passenger transport service in Europe. For us Europe represents a very attractive market and the necessary resources will be provided for our further expansion”, said Zhou Qinghe, Chief Executive of CRRC ZELC.

The agreement was signed on the 26th of September at the opening of CRRC’s European subsidiary in Vienna, CRRC ZELC Verkehrstechnik. The new European headquarters will serve as a bridgehead for CRCC’s expansion on the European market: providing  consulting services, project management, materials purchasing, maintenance & warranty services, and marketing support.
