DeltaRail to Deliver Wheel and Brake Measurement Systems for Sydney Trains

Sydney Trains has chosen DeltaRail to supply the latest generation of automated Wheel and Brake monitoring systems as part of their Asset Condition Monitoring strategy.

The contract covers installations of DeltaRail’s VIEW automated inspection technology at multiple sites that will enable Sydney Trains to reduce operating costs whilst maintaining/improving safety. The systems identify wheel and brake pad wear rates, wheel profile and defects. They also identify missing components and analyse trends to identify issues such as high wear rates, failed brake actuators etc. The data will interface with Sydney Trains existing management systems such as WIMS (Wayside Information Management System) and NMS (Network Management System) and will also be available to view on mobile devices.

Pascal Labouze, Sydney Trains’ Operational Technology Program Delivery Manager says “This project is part of our 5 year Condition Monitoring Strategy and will be an enabler towards transforming us to an intelligent railway. The project will also deliver substantial efficiency benefits to our organisation and we are excited to work with a DeltaRail on delivering these benefits.”
