DHL Global Forwarding and OTLK launch weekly container trains from China to Europe

The first two container trains on the route Jiangsu (China) – Zabaikalsk – Brest – Warsaw, organized in the framework of the MoU  between  DHL Global Forwarding and Project Office Integrated Transport And Logistics Company LLC (OTLK)started running on the 21st of April.

“Belintertrans-transport-logistics center” of the Belarusian Railway (state enterprise “BTLС”) is the operator on the territory of Belarus.

Russian Railways, Kazakhstan Temir Joly (Kazakhstan Railways) and Belarusian Railways, as represented by Project Office Integrated Transport And Logistics Company LLC, and DHL Global Forwarding, signed the MoU in March 2014.

According to the document, the parties agreed to become strategic partners in order to develop jointly railway routes between China – Europe – China and provide door-to-door container shipping services.

Project Office Integrated Transport And Logistics Company (ITLC) will provide one-stop-shop services. As part of joint operations, the company will be responsible for providing station-to-station railway links, including the provision of rolling stock, transit customs clearance for freight and other related services on the route.

For its part, DHL, is responsible for providing comprehensive services and the formation of the cargo base in both China and in Europe.

After receiving approval from the governments of the Russian Federation, Kazakhstan and Belarus to establish the Integrated Transport And Logistics Company, all rights and obligations under the agreement will pass from the Project Office to ITLC.
