DHL Global Forwarding and Integrated Transport and Logistics Company (OTLK) – established by the railways of Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus – have agreed to collaborate on the development of rail transport between China and Europe.
“According to the memorandum, the parties agreed to become strategic partners to jointly develop rail routes between China and Europe-China, organizing Door to Door delivery of containers “, informed the press release.
“Project office OTLK” will be responsible for providing rail links from station to station, including the provision of rolling stock, transit customs clearance and other related services on the route. DHL, in turn, is responsible for providing comprehensive services and the formation of the cargo base, both in China and in Europe.
After receiving approval from the governments of Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus to establish OTLK all rights and obligations under the agreement will shift from the project office to OTLK.
Russian Railways President, Vladimir Yakunin told reporters on Thursday that the documents to create OTLK were submitted to the Government of the Russian Federation.
