Turkey’s 3 PL company Ekol Logistics has announced its presence on the Czech market, making the first investment in this country in the logistics sector. It is the 13th country where Ekol has established its own facilities, after entering the Bulgarian logistics market last month. Ekol Logistics is the owner of 5 Ro-Ro vessels and the operator of 40 block trains (round trips) per week.
“Ekol Czech will offer intermodal solutions and road freight, not only FTL but groupage transport as well. It will be possible thanks to using the own wide Ekol network. Apart from the transport we will offer warehousing and customs services. We are planning that Ekol Czech will generate the turnover of 5,000,000 Euro in 2018 and the level of employment at this moment will be close to 40 employees” – said Martin Zalesky, Country Manager, Ekol Czech.
Ekol Czech will open the first branch in the Prague area by end of June. Next year, the company will open a branch in Brno.
Ekol offers intermodal transport services and currently Ekol in the Czech Republic is also a part of this service as 4 times per week a train connects Trieste with Ostrava. The plan for 2016 is to increase this number to 6. Ekol Czech will develop intermodal transport using train connections within the existing EU lanes and will offer newly-built solutions within the EU territory.
