Hungarian State Railways (MÁV) has launched electrification works of Rákosrendező-Esztergom railway section, part of Budapest – Esztergom line.
In the framework of the infrastructure development project, a second track will be built for Angyalföld – Újpest section until Q1 2017 and starting with next year the electrification and reconstruction of Rákosrendező – Angyalföld railway section will be carried out; the construction of two power substations and the renovation of Esztergom, Dorog and Klotildliget railway stations façades.
Works are carried out by a Strabag Vasútépítő-led consortium which includes MVM OVIT Országos Villamostávvezeték Zrt. and TRSZ Kft. The value of the contract is HUF 33,7 bn (EUR 107 million).
