Estonian Skinest Rail to invest in the Croatian railway market

Estonian Skinest Rail AS is interested in entering the Croatian railway market by partnering with or investing in the state-owned passenger operator HŽ Putnički prijevoz, state-owned rail freight operator HŽ Cargo and rolling stock manufacturer TŽV Gredelj.

Skinest Rail, part of Skinest Group, is the largest Estonian railway operator providing services on several European markets, according to Roman Zaharov, Skinest Rail AS member of board. The company has developed a portfolio of business activities, however on the Croatian market the company is currently only intersted in the rail sector.

Skinest Rail also sales, repairs and leases freight wagons. On the Croatian market, the company plans to partner TŽV Gredelj, contributing to the modernisation of the existing production capacities and the opening of new markets. “We are aware of the situation in which TŽV Gredelj is now and we are willing to help this quality company to survive in the market, therefore, we are ready to cooperate, so that we can jointly come up with solutions,” added Zaharov.

The company has been monitoring the Croation railway market since 2012.
