Federal Passenger Company to acquire 34 new double-deck sleeping cars

Federal Passenger Company (FPK), subsidiary Russian Railways (RZD) will acquire 34 new double-deck sleeping cars to enter service on the Samara – Moscow route.

FPK has obtained a RUB 2.5 bn loan from VTB Bank for financing this acquisition.

The first double-deck train on № 50/49 Moscow – Samara is scheduled to enter service on December 3rd, 2015.

In 2013, FPK ordered double-deck cars from Transmashholding’s Tver Carriage Works which were delivered in June this year. The coaches are used on the Moscow – Voronezh route.
