Pesa tramway officially handed over to Sofia’s tram operator

On the 13th of January, Stoliczen Elektrotransport, the tram and trolleybus operator in Sofia organised a ceremony to mark the first ride of the Swing tramway through the streets of the city. This is the first of the twenty-PESA tramways to be delivered by may 2014. The value of the order is EUR 33.2 million, in accordance with the agreement signed on June 21 last year. The five-section Swing trams are 2 300 mm wide and run on the 1 009 mm gauge parts of the network.
