First two FLIRT3 EMUs for Serbian Railways on final testing

The first two Stadler FLIRT3 EMUs for Serbian Railways are on final testing and are expected to arrive in Serbia by next month and to enter service in December. The third set is in its final installation stage, while interior works, electrical and pneumatic installations are being installed on the fourth and fifth set. The preparation for the operation and maintenance of new Swiss trains is planned to be held in the EMUs maintenance Depot in Zemun.

The train achieves a maximum speed of 160 km/h and offers 212 seats in second class and 12 seats in first class, plus standing room for 230 people. The passenger compartment and driver’s cab are air-conditioned. The vehicle has a 25 kV 50 Hz power network.

FLIRT3, including driving simulator in a driver’s cab,  will be presented at InnoTrans on Wednesday, 24 September 2014, 11 a.m. to 12 noon, platform 6/1.
