Kazakhstan to launch 5 railway lines in 2014

Five high-speed railway lines will be launched this year in Kazakhstan, Minister of Transport and Communications Askar Zhumagaliyev said at a press conference in the Central Communications Service, on the 26th of December 2013. These are part of  the 2nd stage of the implementation of Kazakhstan’s  Strategy of Transport Sector Development of up to 2015.

“In 2013 we launched three high-speed trains. Next, we will open 5 more high-speed lines, among which Astana-Zashchita,  Almaty-Zashchita, international route Almaty-Tashkent ” he stated.  “In the future, the number of routes will increase. Every year we plan to open 4-5 routes,” the minister added.
