Lyudinovsky Diesel Locomotive Plant (LTZ, a member enterprise of Sinara Transport Machines), was certified for meeting the International Railway Industry Standard (IRIS) requirements, the company’s press service says.
The certification procedure was carried out by the auditors from the international holding DQS GmbH, one of the global leaders on the market of examination of business processes and certification of management systems.
The IRIS standards was developed at the initiative of the Association of the European Rail Industry (UNIFE). IRIS lays out the basic requirements that the railway vehicle and spare parts manufacturers are supposed to meet.
‘LTZ started the introduction of the standard in August 2010. Since then, the company has implemented all the mandatory processes and procedures that are prescribed by the ISO 9001:2008 requirements and the IRIS requirements. Over 100 employees received special training on the IRIS methodology, and nearly all the job descriptions were adjusted in the light of this specific expertise. 33 new methodological manuals and 19 manuals for business processes were designed as well,’ the company reports.
