Macedonian Railways to launch tender for the rehabilitation of three electric locomotives and maintenance workshops

Macedonian Railways Transport JSC intends using the proceeds of a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development to finance the acquisition of new rolling stock as well as the rehabilitation of locomotives and maintenance workshops. The proposed project, which has a total estimated cost of EUR 59 million equivalent consists of the procurement of various goods, works and services.

 The following contracts remain to be procured under the project:

  • Rehabilitation of three electric locomotives
  • Rehabilitation of maintenance workshops

Tendering for the above contracts is expected to begin in the second half of 2014.
