The modernisation of Székesfehérvár railway station, rail node and related infrastructure has been completed, announced Hungary’s National Infrastructure Development Company (NIF). The total value of Székesfehérvár project, the last phase of the complex reconstruction of Budapest-Kelenföld–Székesfehérvár railway line, reached HUF 33 billion (EUR 106 million).
The project included the reconstruction of 19 km of lines, new OLE, installation of new electronic interlocking systems, passenger information and security surveillance systems, partial renovation of the historic station, the construction of new facilities and passenger underpasses.
The installation of the electronic interlocking system (HUF 8 bn) was carried out by Thales Austria GmbH and Dunántúli Távközlési és Biztosítóberendezési Építő Kft, while civil engineering works (HUF 24 bn) were carried out by SDD Konzorcium (Subterra as (Bezová), Dömper Kft., Pannon-Doprastav Kft.)
The project was implemented under financing provided by NIF, EU and national sources.
