Moscow to put into operation 20 km of metro lines in 2016 

Moscow Metro plans to commission and put into operation 20 km of new metro lines this year, as part of the city major infrastructure development programme. Works are ongoing on 60 km of metro lines, at 35 stations and five depots.

In the territory of New Moscow, the first two metro stations to open are Rumyantsevo and Salaryevo, on the southwestern end of the Red line line (Sokolnicheskaya).

The first section of second ring of metro, from the Business Center to Petrovsky Park, will also enter operation this year. It includes five stations.

The Kalinin-Solntsevo line section, from the Ramenky to Business Center station, is scheduled for opening at the end of 2016.
