New extention deadline for Macedonia’s tram PPP tender

City of Skopje has extended until June 11 the bidding deadline for a contract regarding the construction of a tramway track on a design-build-finance-operate-transfer basis, contact estimated at EUR 230 million.

Contract title:  Design, building, financing, operation and transfer of light rail system for transport of passengers in the City of Skopje.
 Type of contract and location of works:

— Designing of infrastructure for light rail line 1 (one)
— Preparation of Environmental Impact Assessment Study/Elaborate for environmental protection;
— Construction of line 1 (one) route length of 12.1 km (24.20 in two directions);
— Construction of stations, depot and other necessary infrastructure;
— Procurement of minimum 22 (twenty two) tram cars; and
— Operation, including Maintenance for the line 1 for the entire duration of the PPP Contract.The Public Private Partnership Contract will be established in a form of concession of public works and will be concluded for period of up to 35 (thirty five) years, counted from the day of signing of the contract.
