Newag to supply six EMUs to Warsaw Commuter Rail

Poland: Warsaw Commuter Rail (WDK) and Newag SA signed a PLN 98.2 million (EUR 23.4 million) contract for the delivery of six new EMUs. The units are to be delivered over the next two years.

The 60 m long six-section EMUs have 164 seats and are equipped with integrated passenger information system with external LED information boards and internal LCD monitors, four dedicated areas for wheelchairs and eight for bikes.  

The acquisition is part of the “Development of the system for public passenger transport in the Warsaw agglomeration through increased efficiency, reliability and safety of Warsaw Commuter Rail” project,  financed under the Swiss-Polish Cooperation Program (SPCP).
