NEWAG to deliver IMPULS II EMUs to Italy

Polish rolling stock manufacturer NEWAG and Italian regional operator Ferrovie del Sud Est e Servizi Automobilistici  have signed a five-year framework contract for up to 15 three-car IMPULS II elec­tric mul­ti­ple units (EMUs).

Impuls II tra­ins will be the first EMUs  in Western Europe produced by a Polish manu­fac­tu­rer of rail vehicles.“It will be a true Polish train, with a Polish heart. All major components, inc­lu­ding elec­tric and power sys­tems as well as  the con­trol sys­tem will be manu­fac­tu­red in War­saw and in Nowy Sącz,” empha­si­sed Zbi­gniew Konie­czek, NEWAG’s CEO.

The total  net value of the orders  made under the agre­ement may reach a maximum of EUR 60 525 000, whe­reas the exe­cu­tive con­tract amo­unts to EUR 20 175 000.00 net.

The new tra­ins will enter operation starting with Decem­ber 2016.
