NTA intends to issue a Design-Build tender for the civil works of the Turkish Alignment Project at the End of March 2014

NTA, an Israeli government owned company, is promoting the implementation of the Red-Line as the first Light Rail Transit Line to be operated in the Tel-Aviv metropolitan area. Part of the Red Line underground alignment will pass through Neve Zedek, the historical route of the Turkish railway. The Turkish Alignment C&C Tunnel involves 1,000m of Cut & Cover tunnel work , including two underground levels.

The lower level hosts the underground LRT, commencing at the western end with  a descent from the surface to the tunnel portal and includes “Eliphelet” station stop. From the portal, the lower level continues in a western direction ending in the previously constructed Hertzl shaft. The upper tunnel level consists of an underground vehicle tunnel from Eliphelet  street to Nachalat Binyamin street, including 2 entrance portals (east and west) and ramp to the surface. The surface level consists of landscaping throughout the entire alignment of the works, preservation of heritage structures and buildings and remodeling of the existing land use NTA intends to issue a Design-Build tender for the civil works of the Turkish Alignment Project at the End of March 2014.
