PKP Cargo licensed to operate on the Lithuanian railway network

The Lithuanian State Railway Inspectorate under the Ministry of Transport issued to PKP Cargo a safety certificate B, granting access to operate on Lithuania’s railway network. PKP Cargo also obtained a five year extension for its safety certificates issued by Germany, Austria, the Netherlands and Slovakia’s railway regulators.

“Obtaining a safety certificate for Lithuania is the next step in the strategy of PKP Cargo, aiming foreign expansion. We are systematically building a position in the region through the ability to conduct independent operations in eight countries of the European Union. Our goal is to be Central Europe’s market leader and to offer customers complementary logistics services making use of the potential of our transport and forwarding“, said Adam Purwin, President of PKP Cargo.

PKP Cargo will operate on the 22 km long standard gauge (1435 mm) railway section from the Polish – Lithuanian Border – Mockawa – Sestokai station.
