PKP Intercity awarded the tender for the purchase of 20 electric multiple units to Pesa Bydgoszcz. The value of the project amounts to more than PLN 1.3 billion.
“The acquisition of the 20 EMU is another element of the investment program PKP Intercity, worth nearly 7 billion zł. The modern and comfortable trains will operate on Jelenia Góra – Wrocław – Łódź – Warszawa – Białystok/Lublin oraz Białystok/Lublin – Warszawa – Koluszki – Częstochowa – Katowice – Bielsko Biała” declared Paul Hordyriski, member of the board of PKP Intercity Chief Financial Officer.
Trains will be equipped with: integrated air conditioning and heating system, ergonomic chairs, facilities for persons with disabilities, extensive passenger information systems etc.
PKP Intercity plans to finance the project from its own resources and from the EU Cohesion Fund under the Operational Programme Infrastructure and Environment.
