PKP Polish Railway Lines announced tender for new passenger information systems

PKP Polish Railway Lines (PKP PLK) has announced a four-lots tender  (2014/S 196-347242) for the design, supply and installation of new passenger information systems in 763 railway stations throughout the country. The system is scheduled to be ready by the end of next year.

“The installation of the system in almost 800 stations and stops will definitely improve the rail journey. Electronic bulletin boards and info kiosks will inform on next several train connections. The investment will increase not only the standard of the information delivered, but will also increase the safety of passengers, thanks to the monitoring system”, said Andrzej Pawlowski – Vice President of PKP PLK .

All the stations and stops in the project will be equipped with loudspeakers and electronic boards showing the timetables and train information.  In addition, in 288 key stations, PKP PLK will install platform displays, with visual,  dynamic passenger information. 

The procurement is part of the project “Design, supply and installation of dynamic passenger information and monitoring systems, including technical infrastructure in railway stations and stops”, financed under the Operational Programme Infrastructure and Environment (OPI&E) 7.1-106.
