PKP Polish Railway Lines has announced a PLN 350 million tender for modernisatian and electrification works on Lublin – Stalowa Wola Rozwadów rail section.
After modernisation the 100 km-long rail line will allow trains speeds of 120 km/h. The electrification of Lublin – Stalowa Wola line will create new opportunities for long-distance and regional rail passenger transport, including convenient connections between Warsaw – Lublin towards Stalowa Wola and Rzeszów. The line upgrading will also encourage the development of freight transport in the south – eastern part of Poland, making rail freight transport more efficient and profitable.
The installation of modern railway traffic control devices and the modernization of level-crossings will increase line capacity and the safety level. The projects includes the construction of new rail stops in Charzewice and Zaklikow and the reconstruction of bridges, viaducts and culverts along the line.
The process is carried out under Design-and-Build form. The development of the project design documentation and execution of construction works are planned for the years 2017-2019.
