Poland: EUR 6 million for GSM-R infrastructure construction – preparatory works

PKP PLK will receive PLN 26 million (EUR 6 million) grant from the Operational Programme Infrastructure and Environment for the project GSM-R system infrastructure construction on railway lines in accordance with the schedule NPW ERTMS phase 1 – preparatory works. The financing agreement was signed by PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe SA and the Centre for EU Transport Projects (CEUTP) on the 17th of December.

Activities involve the preparation of project documentation, obtaining building permits for radio communication facilities along the railway lines throughout the country, as well as the land rights acquisition where GSM-R base stations will be built. 

The project, with a total value of PLN 38 million,  is a component of the complex plan to implement GSM-R on the Polish railway network .
