Polish and Czech rail infrastructure managers establish joint working groups

Polish and Czech rail infrastructure managers establish joint working groupsPKP Polish Railway Lines (PKP PLK) and Czech Railway Infrastructure Administration (SŽDC) have launched the Infrastructure Working Group on improving coordination of actions on border rail sections. The group will also develop a common position before the ministries of the two countries and will come with solutions for administrative, technical and operational issues. 

“Our objective is to have good rail passenger connections and efficient handling of cargo at the Polish-Czech border. The infrastructure managers are hoping that the established Infrastructure Group will manage, coordinate and develop more consistent and transparent cooperation agreements between infrastructure managers and operators”, said Andrzej Pawlowski, Vice President of PKP Polish Railway Lines SA.

At the first group meeting participated representatives of 26 rail operators, of PKP PLK and SŽDC.  

Corresponding groups on legislation, investments, timetable drafting, electronic data interchange, operation and maintenance, transit privileges, traffic management were also set.
