Port Russe launches Bulgaria-Germany block-train

Port Complex Russe EAD has launched a regular block-train service between Bulgaria and Germany. The pilot project is based on the principle of intermodal road/rail transport.

The block-train has a capacity for68 cargo carriages (trailers) and operates once a week in two directions. Almost 3000 trailers will be transported by the end of the year.

In 2014, Port Complex Russe EAD reported profits of BGN 1.2 million and 670 thousand tons of cargo managed. The investments foreseen for 2015 the purchase of new machinery and equipment as well as rehabilitation of the port infrastructure, amounting to BGN 1 million.
