Rail Baltica segment connecting the Polish city of Bialystok and Lituania’s Kaunas is set to open for rail passenger transport in June this year. Lithuanian Railways and Polish regional rail passenger operator Przewozy Regionalne carried out on the 5th of May the first test run on Bialystok – Kaunas route, operational since October last year.
“Rail Baltica” first regular services are expected to be launched on the 17th of June. The journey will take about 4 hours and 40 minutes and the ticket from Kaunas to Bialystok will cost EUR 11. From
Poland and Lithuania are currently discussing introducing rail passenger services on Kaunas-Warsaw-Krakow route.
