Russian Railways – Bombardier JV wins rail control system contract in Mongolia

United Electrical Engineering Plants (Elteza) will install radio-based rail control and centralized traffic control systems on more than 1100 km of Mongolia’s Ulan Bator Railway network.

The contract for the design, supply and installation of signaling, centralization, blocking modules (SCB) was signed in late October, according to RZD. The value of the contract was not disclosed. 

Elteza is Russia’s largest signalling equipment producer. Bombardier – BT Signaling (BTS) purchased a 50 minus 1% stake in Elteza  for RUB 1.9 billion in 2011.
