Russian Railways, Bombardier Transportation to export co-developed rail infrastructure technologies

Russian Railways (RZD), Russian Research & Design Institute for Information Technology, Signalling and Telecommunications on Railway Transport (NIIAS), Bombardier Transportation Sweden and Bombardier Transportation (Signal) Ltd, Bombardier’s signalling joint venture with RZD, have signed  memorandum of understanding on jointly entering international markets and participate in rail infrastructure projects.  

The document was signed on the 22nd of September, at InnoTrans, by Valentin Gapanovich Senior Vice President of RZD, Efim Rosenberg, First Deputy General Director NIIAS, Peter Cedervall, President Rail Control Solutions Bombardier Transportation Sweden AB and Andrey Golubev, General Director of Bombardier Transportation (Signal) Ltd.

According to the document, the parties express their intention to export co-developed technology in the field of railway automation and remote control, including in the area of cyber security solutions, station management systems, comprehensive system diagnostics and infrastructure monitoring, and other long-term solutions.

By the end of 2016, the companies will define an international pilot project and will carry out a feasibility study for the project implementation.
