RZD International and Serbian Railways signed additional agreement

Russian Railways International LLC, a subsidiary of Russian Railways, and Serbian Railways have signed an additional agreement under a current contract to perform work on the construction (reconstruction) of railway infrastructure in Serbia.  The additional agreement  is for the reconstruction works of six railway sections of Corridor X, with a total length of 112 km.

The contract, signed in May 2013,  by Sergei Pavlov, Managing Director of Russian Railways International and Dragoljub Simonović, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Managing General of Serbian Railways, involves the construction of 15 km and the electrification of the second track railway line Belgrade – Pancevo, reconstruction of six sections with a total length of 112 km Pan-European Corridor 10, reconstruction of existing and construction of a second track on the new railway Stara Pazova – Novi Sad, 44 km long, the reconstruction of the Serbian section of the railway line Belgrade – Bar with a total length of 200 km (Belgrade – Vrbnitsa), as well as the supply of 26 diesel trains of JSC “Metrovagonmash” (Russia).

The contract was signed in the framework of an agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Serbia Republic of Serbia to provide state export credit in the amount of 800 million U.S. dollars.
