Serbian Railways (Zeleznice Srbije) and RZD International will sign, on the 6th of March, Annex 2 to the Russian loan, for upgrading works of six rail sections (112 kilometers) of Corridor X. Works are to begin on 3 sections (66 kilometers) this year: Ruma-Golubinci (18 kilometers) , Sopot Kosmajski – Kovačevac ( pprox. 18, 4 km and Mala Krsna – Velika Plana (approx. 29,5 km). During 2015 and 2016, the remaining 3 sections, Vinarci-Đorđevo (15 km), Vranjska Banja-Ristovac (17.7 km) and Bujanovac-Bukarevac (13.7 km), will also be upgraded.
“Serbian Railways” have already secured all the materials required for carrying out the planned works, thanks to a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. For procurement of rails, concrete and wooden sleepers, kolosečnog accessories, gravel, rubber panels and other building materials were allocated 25 million loan from the EBRD. All materials required for repairs, including about 8 thousand tons of rails, but was purchased and distributed along the sections on which to perform the works.
Serbian Railways have already purchased all the necessary materials for the planned works thanks to a EUR 25 million loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
