Shorter travel time from Warsaw to Krakow, Katowice and Wroclaw

PKP Polish Railway Lines plans to reconstruct 16 engineering structures on Biała Rawska – Strzałki rail section in order to adapt them to train speeds of 200 km/h. Modernisation works were launched in March this year and are planned for completion in December 2017.

The value of the project reaches over PLN 29 millio (EUR 6.5 million) and financing is provided by state funds.

The modernisation works carried out for the 2 bridges, 6 viaducts and 8 stations on the  14 km-long Biała Rawska – Strzałki rail section and the train control system related changes will shortened the journey from Warsaw to Krakow, Katowice and Wroclaw by another few minutes, starting from December 2017.
