Siemens and Sinara Group sign MoU for the production of  Sapsan high-speed trains in Russia

In celebration of their Ural Locomotives JV’s 5th anniversary, Siemens and Sinara Group signed on the 9th of July a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the production of Sapsan high-speed trains at the Verkhnyaya Pyshma  plant in Sverdlovsk Oblast.

“In the first five years of operation, Ural Locomotives has become synonymous with advanced technology and progress. I am sure that this MoU will be a starting point for our cooperation in the field of high-speed trains”, said Dr Dietrich Müller, Siemens President for Russia and Central Asia.

The second event of the day was the ceremonial start of new EMU ES2G Lastochka Premium production, designed for operating between large urban agglomerations, within 200 km of each other, its interior being more comfortable to suit longer trips.  In addition, a large proportion of its components are to be manufactured in Russia.
