Slovenian Railways: EUR 498 million operating income in 2013

According to recent data, Slovenian Railways (Slovenske Zeleznice) generated approximately EUR 498 million euros operating income last year, which is 10% more than in 2012. Operating profit reached EUR 19.1 million and the total profit  EUR 18.6 millionLast year, Slovenian Railways transported 17.63 million tonnes of cargo, a 9.2% increase compared to 2012.  Good results were also achieved in passenger transport, with  approximately 16.4 million passengers, a 5.7% compared to 2012.

According to the Statistical Office of Slovenia, the national railway transport represents a 94% share of total railway passenger transport in the country.
