SŽDC presents Praha-Veleslavín – Václav Havel Airport rail connection project

mapa_letisteInCzech Railway Infrastructure Administration (SŽDC) has presented the project for the modenisation and construction of Praha-Veleslavín – Václav Havel Airport rail connection, part of Praha-Kladno rail line. 

The project includes the modernization, double-tracking and electrification of the existing 3.8 km single-track Prague Veleslavín – Prague Ruzyně section, the construction of a new 5.5 km double track connecting Prague Ruzyně to Prague-Václav Havel airport (80 km/h); the construction of a new underground rail station at Praha-Letiště Václava Havla, a new railway station Praha-Dlouhá Míle, the reopening of Prague-Liboc, the relocation of the railway station in Ruzyně beyond the crossing with Drnovská Street; direct connection to the Prague Metro Line A from Prague Veleslavín rail station.

The preparation of project documents for the modernization of the line Praha-Kladno including the connection to Václav Havel Airport is carried out by  Metroproject – Sudop Praha consortium, following a contract signed with SZDC in December 2016.
